प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा देश में चल रहे लॉकडाउन की अवधि बढ़ाने के बाद उदयपुर जिला कलेक्टर ने विडीओ के ज़रिए आदेश जारी किए।

कलेक्टर ने ज़िले धारा 144, 3 मई मध्यरात्रि तक प्रभावी रखने के आदेश जारी किए है। इसके तहत, 5 या उससे अधिक व्यक्ति एक स्थान पर एकत्रित नही हो सकते।

यह प्रतिबंध से रेलवे स्टेशन, बस स्टैंड, चिकित्सकीय संस्थान, राजकीय तथा सार्वजनिक कार्यालय और विध्यालय एवं महाविध्यालयों में होने वाली परीक्षा कक्षों को मुक्त रखा जएगा।

कलेक्टर ने लॉकडाउन के दौरान आवश्यक आपातक़ालीन स्थिति में आने-जाने के लिए जारी किए गए पास जो पहले 14 मार्च तक वैध थे, अब लॉकडाउन बढ़ने के बाद उनकी भी वैधता बढ़ा कर 3 मई कर दी है।

आदेशानुसार, ये सभी पास 3 मई 2020 तक या अग्रिम आदेश/निर्देश तक वैध रहेंगे।

अगर किसी को पास के लिए आवेदन करना हो तो वह राजकॉप सिटिज़न ऐप के द्वारा ऑनलाइन आवेदन कर सकता है।

कलेक्टर ने विडीओ के ज़रिए सूचित किया की शहर के मल्लातलाई के 3 किलोमीटर इलाक़े में लगा कर्फ़्यू 16 अप्रेल तक जारी रहेगा। 17 अप्रेल से इलाक़े को कर्फ़्यू मुक्त किया जाएगा लेकिन वहां पूरी सख़्ती रखी जाएगी।

आजकल हमें आये दिन उदयपुर की पहाड़ियों या मंगरों पर तेज़ आग लगते हुए दिखती है। पर क्या आपने कभी सोचा है, अभी तो ढंग से गर्मिया आयी भी नहीं और इतनी तेज़ आग अलग-अलग पहाड़ों पर क्यों दिखाई दे रही है? आग लग भी रही है तो सारे पहाड़ों पर क्यों नहीं लेकिन कुछ पहाड़ों पर ही क्यों?

आग एक प्राकृतिक रूप से लगती है – ज्यों की अक्सर गर्मियों के दिनों में तेज़ हवा चलती है तो पेड़ों के आपस में टकराने से घर्षण उत्पन्न होता है जिसके कारण लगती है। लेकिन ये बात हमें समझ में आती उस से पहले किसी ने हमें इंस्टाग्राम पर एक मेसेज किया – जिसमें पहाड़ों पर लगी आग के चित्र के साथ हमें लिखा – “अंधविश्वास की आग” जब हमने उन महाशय से पूछा तो हम हैरान हो गए यह बात जानकार की आग मानवीय भी हो सकती है।

हमने जाना की आदिवासियों में जब कोई मनोकामना माँगता है तो वह यह भी घोषणा करता है की जब उनकी मनोकामना पूरी हो जाएगी तो वह ‘मगरा नहलाएगा’। मगरा नहलाने का अर्थ है, छोटी पहाड़ी/मगरा/मगरी के एक क्षेत्र को चुनकर, उस जगह आग लगाना।

हमारी उत्सुकता और बढ़ी तो हमने कुछ और बुजुर्ग गाँव के लोगों से पूछा कि किस तरह की मनोकामना पूरी होने पर यह किया जाता है, तो पता लगा की मनोकामना में डकैती, चोरी या बच्चा माँगने की मन्नत पूरी होना शामिल है। वैसे अब लोगों ने डकैती या चोरिया कम कर दी है।

हमें यह भी जानने को मिला कि इसे चूंदड़ ओढ़ाना भी कहते हैं क्योंकि जब आग की लपटे लाल निकलती तब इसे चूंदड़ ओढ़ाना कहा जाता है, इस दौरान कई जानवर भी मर जाते है जिसे यही आदिवासी लोग बलि चढ़ाना भी मानते है।

हाँ अब अंधविश्वास कहो या विश्वास, लेकिन आदिवासियों के लिए ये विश्वास है। ……. हाँ हमारे लिए ये अंधविश्वास हो सकता है।

Lockdown Extended till May 3

Lockdown Extended

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday morning to announce an extension of nationwide lockdown till May 3, 2020. The PM said that India will remain under lockdown until 3 May extending prohibitory measures by another 19 days.

The PM also said that based on extensive scrutiny, after April 20, a conditional withdrawal of the lockdown can be permitted in areas where the spread has either been contained or prevented.

Detailed guidelines on this extension of lockdown will be released on Wednesday.

The government would put greater focus on the hotspots, including the ones where the infection rate might escalate.

PM emphasised that both lives and livelihoods of the people are the primary focus of the government and the states. Therefore, India would reopen its economy while maintaining stringent curbs in COVID-19 hotspots.

PM said that fight against the pandemic will become stricter during the next one week till 20 April. Every region, every district, every state, every police station will be evaluated in terms of implementation of lockdown. In this period, if an area protects itself from coronavirus and does not come out with any new positive case, it will be given partial relief from the lockdown.

Regions, districts, states which are not the hotspots fo COVID-19 and pass this 1-week test may be allowed certain essential activities.

Modi said detailed guidelines will be issued on Wednesday in which will keep in mind the needs of the informal sector and farmers.

Udaipur’s PI Industries providing hi-tech Japanese Spray Machines to Delhi Administration

PI Foundation, the CSR arm of PI Industries Ltd., Udaipur joined hands to support local administration of Delhi in the sanitization of large areas at a brisk pace. Under the collaboration, PI Foundation is providing services of PI Industries by providing hi-tech Japanese Spray Machines for its massive sanitization drive across the city.

The machines are equipped with the ability to disinfect and sanitize large areas up to 15,000 sq. meters an hour by one machine for public places. These machines are being used in containment zones, declared as ”Red Zones”, and the high-risk zones declared as ”Orange Zones”.

DLF Foundation is supporting PI Foundation in the implementation of this initiative.

Wearing mask in public places mandatory in Udaipur

In the midst of a coronavirus epidemic, the district administration on Friday made it mandatory for people to wear masks in public areas. Violation of the directive can lead to legal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the order released by the district authorities in Udaipur, all persons in public places like streets, hospitals, markets, offices, etc must wear a 3-ply mask or cloth mask compulsorily. The order also states that any person who is moving around in his personal or official vehicle must be wearing these masks compulsorily.

Additionally, a person or officer will attend any meeting or go to the workplace wearing the facemasks.

States like UP and Odisha have already made the wearing of masks compulsory in the entire state. In fact, the Odisha Government has even instructed all petrol pumps across major cities to not dispense fuel to anyone who is not found wearing a mask.

An advisory from the health department recommends home-made cotton, double-layer reusable masks for use as the first line of protection. The health ministry has also released guidelines on the specifications for homemade masks.

Homemade face cover is a good way for maintaining personal hygiene and its usage would certainly help in maintaining overall hygienic health conditions.

Therefore, the advisory suggests the use of handmade reusable face cover for people who are not suffering from medical conditions or having breathing difficulties. These people must use this mask when they step out of their house.

However, the advisory does not recommend homemade masks for:

  • Health Workers
  • Those in contact with COVID-19 Patients
  • COVID-19 Patients

These categories of people are required to wear specified protective gear.

Rajasthan Lockdown to be extended till April 30

After Punjab and Odisha, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, on Friday, announced the extension of the lockdown in the state till April 30. The decision has been taken in order to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Earlier on March 21, Rajasthan CM had announced a complete lockdown in the state till March 31. The CM had announced this state-wide lockdown before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the pan-India 21-day lockdown on March 25.

The CM discussed the current situation with the representatives of industrial organisations and various business associations through video conferencing. He said that protecting the lives of people is the most important aspect of the decision of the state government.

The CM said that the entrepreneurs and traders of the state have given their support to the government in handling the situation. They have maintained the supply chain of essential commodities during the lockdown period.

He said, “The government stands with entrepreneurs in this hour of crisis, and industries related to essential commodities, which were allowed to open in lockdown, will not require any kind of permission to conduct their work smoothly”.

Gehlot took feedback from representatives of various associations, heard their suggestions related to the smooth supply of essential commodities and lifting the lockdown.

Earlier the Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh Earlier unanimously extended the lockdown till May 1 on Friday. Before that, Odisha PM announced that the lockdown in the state will be extended until the end of this month.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister has scheduled a video conference to interact with the Chief Ministers of the states on Saturday. The PM along with the CMs will decide upon extending the 21-day further.

Udaipur ESIC Hospital becomes COVID-19 Facility

The Labour Ministry on Thursday declared 8 Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)-run hospitals across the country including Udaipur’s ESIC Hospital as COVID-19 facility.

Alternative provision has been made for providing medical services from tie-up hospital if an ESIC hospital is declared as a dedicated COVID-19 hospital to cater exclusively to corona suspected/confirmed cases.

ESI beneficiaries may also seek emergency/non-emergency medical treatment from tie-up hospital directly without a referral letter.

The ESIC has also allowed the purchase of medicines by beneficiaries from private chemist during the lockdown period and its subsequent reimbursement by ESIC.

The 8 Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospitals will provide a total of 1,042 isolation beds for COVID-19 patients. Besides, the remaining ESIC hospitals in the country are also available along with 555 ICU beds and 197 ventilators.

The following ESIC Hospitals with 1042 isolation beds across India declared as COVID-19 Hospitals:

  • ESIC Hospital, Ankleshwar, Gujarat: 100 Beds
  • ESIC Hospital, Gurugram, Haryana: 80 Beds
  • ESIC Hospital, Vapi, Gujarat: 100 Beds
  • ESIC Hospital, Udaipur, Rajasthan: 100 Beds

Rajasthan Schools CANNOT Charge Advance Fees for Apr-Jun Quarter

The private schools in Rajasthan will not charge any dues or advance fee for three months including April to June from the students during the lockdown. Rajasthan CM, Ashok Gehlot also instructed the schools to promote the students of all classes, except X and XII.

In a video conference meeting held on Thursday, Rajasthan CM said that on account of non-payment of fee, the schools cannot strike off the name of any student from the school rolls.

The CM said that the students will be promoted to the next grade on the basis of the assessments and periodic tests conducted so far. The schools and colleges will have to make arrangements for online classes and e-learning to ensure continuity of studies.

The video conferencing meeting was held to review the situation in educational institutions during the lockdown. It was also decided during the meeting that the colleges and technical institutes can announce summer vacations from April 15 2020. However, there would no vacations in schools.

Bhanwar Singh Bhati, the Higher Education Minister informed that the ministry has formed a five-member committee to decide the schedule for the exam of the universities.

A YouTube Channel has been introduced to provide e-content to the college students while the mid-semester exam in technical universities have been conducted online.

Udaipur students develop Smart Sticks for Blinds

The advancement of technology is proving to be a boom in all walks of life. With the help of this advancing technology, the students of Aravali Institution of Technical Studies, Udaipur have developed ‘Smart Stick’ for the blind people.

Garvit Paliwal and Sumit Sharma from Aravali Institution of Technical Studies have together worked on this project of developing this ‘Smart Stick’.

The stick uses smart technology to help visually-impaired people navigate their surroundings. It can detect and give a signal with popping sound and vibration if anything comes in front of the person. The stick also emits light to give a signal to other people during the night. The signal will make the person in from alert about the blind person and avoid accidents.

The stick is also equipped with GPS for the users to pair it with their smartphone and integrate it with a voice assistant and Google Maps.

Features of Smart Stick:

  • Smart technology to help visually-impaired people navigate efficiently.
  • It can give a signal with popping sound and vibration.
  • Lighting signal for others to alert them and avoid accidents.
