12 Resolutions that Authority in Udaipur Should Take this New Year

New Year doesn’t assure any novelty or changes around you but it definitely comes with new hope and lots of expectations. Now that we bid adios to the year 2018 and welcome the year 2019, there are a lot of changes and developments that we as a citizen of Udaipur would like to see in the city. Below is the list of those 12 resolutions that authority needs to take in Udaipur this New Year which will lead to a better future for the citizens in Udaipur.

Better Road conditions

Source: thehindu

This has been an all-time problem for the Udaipurites, no matter what the season is. Uneven roads, potholes, and dry dust covering your face while you drive leads to frequent accidents. Not just that, but it also results in long traffic jams creating an improper traffic structure in the city. Which leads us to our next point.

Organized traffic structure

Source: khas Khabar

It seems like there is a season of following the traffic rules. During some part of the year, wearing a helmet would be necessary or you would be fined and during some part, even the traffic lights won’t work properly. It creates an irregularity in the traffic structure of the city which ultimately makes a citizen think it is okay if he breaks the rule.

Lake conservation and cleaning

Source: UdaipurTimes

If you observe carefully, our city is unimaginably beautiful. Not just in pictures but also in reality. All it needs is proper attention, maintenance, and regular cleaning. Just cleaning the lakes would immensely add up to the above statement. Lakes such as Lake Pichola, Lake Fatehsagar, Lake Doodhtalai, etc. all have the same story. If our Lakes itself isn’t clean, then there’s no point of dreaming the city to be like Venice.

Taking care of the tourist attraction points

Source: allevents

Tourism is one of the major income generating sources for the city. Thus it is very important to maintain them and add to their beauty. The tourist attraction points don’t just end up on prominent places but also the heritage and cultural festivals which boost up the tourism rate in the city. Maintaining the beauty of the places and adding up more festivals and programs such as Lake Festival and Shilpgram festival would definitely attract more tourists in the upcoming year.

An ideal clean city – Udaipur

Source: Shivangi Reviews

To discuss this point, I would want to take an example of the city of Indore which is being considered as the cleanest city in the country. The municipal corporation in Indore has adopted some smart ways that have changed the way garbage was hitherto disposed in the city. These methods included door-to-door garbage collection and night cleaning which were very effective in reducing littering on the road.

Flyover construction

Source: Udaipur News

The news of a flyover being constructed in the city has been in air from quite a long time now. Still, it is very difficult to say when it will be constructed. The list of resolution for the year 2019 should definitely be added with the point.

Implementation of No vehicle zone

Source: udaipur Magic Tour

Currently, there is only one ‘No vehicle zone’ in the city which is at Fatehsagar paal. It really made a great leisure spot for all the citizens without any traffic hassle. More such ‘No vehicle zones’ should be added especially where there are narrow roads and more traffic such as ‘Old City’ area, etc.

Promoting Nightlife in the city

Source: VideoBlocks

Nightlife is a major void when it comes to the city of Udaipur. After 10:00 pm, the entire city gets closed down resulting in zero nightlife. To promote the same, strict security system should be implemented along with festivals and programs to promote nightlife in the city.

Preserving the Heritage of Udaipur

Source: Pinterest

While we are in Udaipur, one thing is for sure that we would be completely surrounded by Heritage sites. But it is aptly said that with great power comes great responsibility. And so it is necessary that proper attention and care is given to the heritage sites of the city which is quite lacking in the city. For example, Gangaur Ghat and even the Ambrai Ghat, both of which offers a breathtaking view of the city, is all messed up. People come here to wash their clothes or to bathe. Some measures should be taken against issues like such.

Smart City – Public Wifi Zone

Source: India Today

It shouldn’t be just in the name but also in the actions. Smart city Udaipur should be equipped with smart actions and facilities that can help the citizens. And one of such smart move can be creating wifi zones in the public areas.

Development in the outskirts of the city

Source: TripAdvisor

It looks like, amidst the attention given to the tourist spots and the city area, the outskirt area of the city is often being forgotten. No development can be seen in those areas as such and the maintenance as well is not taken care of. The major examples of these areas are Rampura Chouraha, Pratapnagar, etc.

Animal security and control

Source: Travels Of A Bookpacker

Cows sitting on the roads, stray dogs disturbing the chores of people, pigs, and horses finding a place to live, these issues in the city create an imbalance between animals and people. These animals should be assigned a proper place to live where they are not injured by the fast-moving vehicles on the road and rather be taken care of with food and a healthy living environment.

With the above 12 resolutions for the authority, we hope this New Year shall be happy for the city as well as you.

Historical Places in Rajsamand District

Rajsamand is not an alien place for the citizens of Udaipur. The place is located at a distance of mere 62 km and is named after the famous Lake Rajsamand. The history of the place dates back to 17th century when Rana Raj Singh Mewar constructed an artificial Lake named as Rajsamand in 1622 AD which reflects a magnificent illustration of the then architecture and public works even today.

Rajsamand has even witnessed the first war of Indian Independence in 1857 under the auspice of Tantya Tope and British rule. Although Rajsamand houses numerous places to visit, there are some places that possess an interesting piece of history behind them.

There are three major Rivers in the area namely Kothari, Banas, and Berach. Gilund was occupied from approx. 3000-1700 BCE. All these years can be divided into three phases which are Late Ahar Banas 2000-1700 BCE, Middle Ahar Banas 2500-2000 BCE, and Early Ahar Banas 3000-2500 BCE. At the very sight, various housing structures were uncovered along with large buildings with long parallel walls, workshops, refuse heaps, and an exterior wall surrounding the site.

It is the same fort where Prince Udai Singh was smuggled to in 1535. This happened when Chittaur was under siege.

The place has been of immense historic interest where a fierce battle was fought between Maharana Pratap and Mughal emperor Akbar in AD 1576. 5 Royal Things to do in Udaipur

The city of lakes in the western part of Rajasthan is the manifestation of a destination no less than a dream. Walking through it feels like the word ‘royalty’ was coined in the charming streets of Udaipur. The millennia-old history is a matter of fascination amongst Indians and foreigners alike, a glimpse of which can be seen in everything native there. In Udaipur, an accommodation that calms the soul is as simple as spotting lakes, gardens, and its famous forts. However, certain activities that imbibe royalty in your very thought and nature are also available.

Click and let Click

Everyone wants some memories of the stay in the city synonymous to grandeur, especially when you can find a natural or man-made wonder everywhere. The Saheliyon Ki Bari (Court of Maidens) is one such popular garden where photography leads to pictures on your walls forever. You do not need permission for photography here. It is the perfect spot if you’re hoping to do a shoot for your brand/client with some royal gardens in the backdrop. Of course, there are several Havelis as well, but you’ll have to check if photography is allowed.

Eat like a Queen

Rajasthani cuisine is particularly spicy, yet delectable. Even the humblest restaurants, cafes, and roadside stalls offer food that cannot be resisted. Don’t forget to try the Mewari curries that are known for their strong flavors and spices being used sparingly. For the highlight, you must try the Laal Maas, which is a traditional Rajasthani non-vegetarian delight. The red meat (mutton) is slowly cooked in red chili and exotic herbs and can be found at virtually every restaurant. You may find the royal experience you’re seeking dining at a restaurant next to Lake Pichola.

Stay in Style

The stay in Udaipur is what makes or makes the experience. The way to getting the best of it in Udaipur is staying on or next to a lake. You can be sure of an experience like no other at The LaLiT Laxmi Vilas Palace Udaipur situated next to Fateh Sagar Lake. The hotel is constructed in an image of royalty. Choose from the Maharaja, Maharani, or Princess Suites that offer space, regal furniture and a service that will make you feel like nobility. Moreover, it won’t burn a hole in your pocket as compared to other options on and around lakes.

Get an aerial view

The view of the city from a height is simply incomparable as it reveals all the humble rises and descents in the city’s geography apart from the lakes that are much bigger than they seem at level. Take the ropeway to the famous Karni Mata Temple. Apart from the view, the ride issues a rush that adds to the excitement inherent in the city. Nothing offers a panoramic view of the majestic city as the ropeway.

Boat ride

Lake Pichola is not only sight in Udaipur, but across the country. More beautiful than a sunrise, you can get a glimpse of the rich history in a flash when the sun sets on the Pichola. However, don’t wait for it on the shore; take a boat cruise on the freshwater and witness the meaning of peace as the lake glimmers with the rays of the sun. The islands on the lake that illuminate as the night begin to fall make it even better.
