According to recent directives issued by the Government, the transport department will be dispatching driving licences and vehicle registration certificates directly at the applicant’s postal address. Just like passports, people now are no more required to visit the transport office a multiple number of times to collect their documents.
The increasing intervention of middle-men and agents create hassles, and as such, the step has been taken to avoid troubles faced by consumers. The directives were issued on 1st of August, following which the Udaipur Transport Department has enforced the same from 7th August Wednesday.
Applicants are required to give the exact postal address for the delivery of their certificates. If the address is found to be incorrect or incomplete, the post will return to the RTO office.
Rajasthan government’s long-awaited battle for the possession of historic Udaipur House in New Delhi has come to rest with the recent directives of Supreme Court. The property is situated near the Tees Hazari court at Civil Lines in Delhi. The Historic building was built before Independence by the then ruling Maharana of Mewar, which was occupied by Delhi government post-independence.
The majestic building is sprawling over 12000 meters of land at a prime location of Delhi, whose current worth is evaluated around 1500 crore. Before Independence, when Luteyn’s Delhi was being designed, the property was built by Udaipur’s Royal family. That time the British asked the Maharana of Udaipur to build a mansion in Delhi like other princely houses.
Post-independence Delhi government was granted the possession only for use. However, in 2010, Ashok Gehlot, the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan held talks with Delhi government to hand over the property back to Rajasthan, but the plea was declined. Following which the government took the issue to Supreme Court.
Recently Supreme Court issued directives to both the governments to settle the issue. After which a meeting among the representatives from Rajasthan and Delhi was held, where it was decided to hand over the property to Rajasthan government.
After the strict instructions from high court and its orders regarding the safety of school-going children, administration has decided to take strict actions against auto drivers and also the schools with which they are affiliated. Increasing cases of accidents and parental complaints have forced local authorities to pay serious attention to the issues. It must be noted that auto drivers have built unions and are hauling more than their carrying capacity. Small kids are even made to sit in the boot area of rickshaws, keeping their lives at highest risks.
Observing the scenario, followed by high-court’s orders, a meeting between traffic department, district transport authorities, NGO, van and auto union members was held on Tuesday. Representatives from different schools, were also invited to bring to their notice about the severity of the issue and get an assertive support from them.
It was also directed that schools must issue strict instructions and do not allow overloaded vehicles in their campus. Besides, they must also ensure that rules are duly followed by the vehicle drivers. Each school must have complete information about the drivers, including their name, vehicle no, phone no, licences and other relevant documents. Parents must also to be enrolled in road safety clubs of every school. Any negligence in following of rules by schools and/or drivers will be dealt with strictness. Traffic inspector, Netrapal Singh stated that, “only drafting of challan is insufficient, hence more stringent actions will be taken as this issue is related to lives of children”.

On the pattern of heritage in Bagore Haveli, the evening full of cultural events were supposed to happen daily. A short film on the history of Saheliyon-ki-Bari was prepared to show in a specially constructed room, but the indigenous and foreign tourists visiting here are not able to see it at this time. On July 28, 2018, the former Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria inaugurated the Kalangan Center. In it, there were 44 works of famous artists of contemporary art including Mewar’s famous traditional miniature painting style, Nathdwara, Kawad Photo category etc. Apart from this, the panels of the historic theme of Mewar, which are built in Herbal Gardens of Forest Medicinal Plants, Bird Vihar are located here.

Second, in the evening selection of a qualified institution for cultural events cannot be held. There will be a separate ticket for entry, but how much it will look, it can not be decided by the administration. Where the entire city is under the terror of swine flu, the medical department seems to be completely careless. There have been several complaints against the apathetic behavior of the department and one example has come into light recently where a man from Udaipur, popularly known as Raju Bhai became deprived of proper last rites, let alone proper medical attention. The irony is that he is the same man who worked for his entire life to provide supplies for the last rites for the citizens of Udaipur.
According to his son, Raju Bhai was rushed to the nearest private hospital when he faced difficulty in breathing. The doctor there said that he might be suffering from Pneumonia or it can be the lethal swine flu too. So first we will implement the treatment of Pneumonia for two days and then of Swine Flu but it will need 3 days for the reports of swine flu to come. Thinking that 5 days will be a long time, his son took him to another private hospital which then shared that the first examination will be conducted in the government hospital (MB hospital).
On reaching upon the hospital, he was directly admitted in the swine flu ward. No one bothered to inspect the actual disease. His father, on the other hand, was getting restless. No attention was being given to the patients, he said. The tables of the doctor and the nurses were situated at the opposite corners but they weren’t communicating about the condition of the patients. He tried to stand up after some time but his neck drooped down to one side.
Later he was declared dead. Upon calling for the ambulance, none of them turned down just because my father was in the swine flu ward. When asked about the treatment history, he was asked to submit the application first. His body was wrapped up in a plastic bag and kept up in an ambulance for an entire night. In the morning, the body was allowed to be taken to his house after a lot of requests. The relatives, however, were asked to move away from the body.
The last rite was carried away in the presence of police and the medical staff and Raju Bhai’s wife wasn’t even allowed to see his husband’s face properly for the last time.
What happened next was the biggest blunder of all. The swine flu report came out to be negative and he was suffering for a cardiac arrest in reality.
Such incidents in our city reflect the shocking and disappointing face where a little carelessness from the authority’s side can cost someone’s life. Raju Bhai will always be remembered for his contribution, may his soul rest in peace.
