Tribute to Teachers

What comes to my mind when I think of Ultimate bliss or a perfect gift from god is a “Teacher”. A significant figure in our life who provides us tips, tools, techniques and knowledge to help us expand our consciousness and raise our energetic frequency.

Apart from parents and family a child spends most of the time at school and it is in school that the character of a child is molded. A teacher inculcates values, traditions and principles in every individual’s life for more than 10 years , and these 10 years are the most essential years for the growth . The teacher is like a potter and the child is the clay. They take what is plain vacuum almost, and changes that clay into a stunning pot that can be used and can be helpful in a million ways. By this it implies that the child is given to the teacher by being normal and it is the teacher who actually gives the student’s life some direction.

A teacher is a perfect blend of knowledge, love, guidance, sacrifices and values. A teacher puts in great effort in everything she does for the child. A teacher’s efforts are enormous. A teacher helps us in ascending in life, in the sense that what she plants today in our mind may one day help us become a great person and come up with flying colors.

SRKrishnanLets salute our teachers by honoring them on this great day celebrates Teacher’s day by remembering a leader, the teacher of all teachers Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Dr S Radhakrishnan was born on September 5th, 1888 in Tiruttani. He is one of the famous Indian philosophers and statesman, his birthday is celebrated as the Teacher’s day. He was the first vice president of India and then became the president in 1962.

Dr S Radhakrishnan started his teaching profession at the Madras Presidency College, he then became the professor of Philosophy by the University of Mysore. His philosophy journals include The Quest, Journal of Philosophy and the International Journal of Ethics. He even wrote books titled “The Philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore” and “The Reign of Religion in Contemporary Philosophy”.

After serving as the principal at the Harris Manchester College, he later became the Vice- Chancellor of Andhra University. Popularly known as Sarvepalli, he even represented India at UNESCO and later as the Ambassador of the Soviet Union. In 1952, he was elected as the vice president of India. He was the first vice president and the second president.

When his students and friends requested him to celebrate his birthday on September 5th, he suggested them to celebrate this day as the Teacher’s day.

We bring some blessing from all the teachers, teaching the geniuses all round the Lake City !!

Independent India Turning 64: Are we Really Independent?

Independence Day- the day when British left the golden bird free from their rule. But the bird was left looted, harassed, with the slightest of hope to survive. Then followed a long fight for the survival of golden bird. 64 years have passed and the country is still ‘developing’. The whole world says and even we believe that we are the citizens of an independent country. But a question always keep on hovering in my mind, the answer to which I never found out. You also give it a try. Is India really free? Are we not bound by so many handcuffs of ever growing poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, crimes, men-women inequality, limited technology and the worst of all which potentiate other bounding forces too- Corruption?

Shocked seeing the figure?? Don’t be because there is still a large figure behind the scene which the CBI has failed to suspect.

Angrez chale gaye par inhe chod gye”- the best phrase that can describe our corrupt politicians and high commanding officers. And why only blame these famous names. Even an ordinary man is giving them a tough competition- Wrong ways to save income tax, Under table income, and what not.  Fighting with any outsider is easy but how to fight with someone amongst ourselves. How to punish a crow from within a group of parrots? And what adds to the tragedy is that everyone is inside this dirty cave of corruption. Those who are in the light of honesty and truthfulness don’t want to make an initiative to clean this dirt.

A grand salute to those great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Swami Vivekanand, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Bhagat Singh who broke a revolt against British and drove them back to their home. Today again we need such leaders to drive corruption out of this beautiful country. Then we all will proudly say that “Yes!! We are the citizens of an independent country which flies unbound in the sky of glory and success”.

Happy Independence Day to all from Udaipur Blog!! Let us vow to make our country a free bird again.

Jai Hind!!

Hariyali Amavasya: A Photostory of the Tradition and Celebration

Hey friends. First and foremost I would like to extend my warm greetings on the occasion of our tradition and cultural day: Hariyali Amavasya.

Hariyali Amavas

As you all might know this year it is being celebrated the 30th and 31st of July, where the 31st will be restricted for the women only. This year saw a great crowd and joy in the fair, as well as the drizzle added to the energy and worked as a stressbuster, and kept the name Hariyali worth its sake. The crowd was huge, the excitement unmatched, all stalls were ready and loaded either with eatables, toys, fancy items, women’s items, etc. People were here with the traditional pupadis or the instrument horning them all the way, and not to forget, the day’s special Malpuas.

For those who were present at the event, and want to feel the same fun again, and also, who unfortunately missed the fair, here I bring you a photostory with some of my best clicks, for the first day at the Hariyali Amavasya fair. Let the pictures speak for themselves.:)

A Perfectly Inspiring class by the Missile Man

APJ in Udaipur

APJ Abdul Kalam is a man of great vision, an eminent scientist and engineer who served as the 11th President of India from the period 2002 to 2007. A person with the pure and down to earth personality was in the city of lakes yesterday. He arrived at the Maharana Pratap international airport at 3:30 P.M., and went straight to the circuit house for rest, where he enjoyed the pleasing and every refreshing view of our own Fatehsagar. After resting for about an hour Kalam sir took the the class of the Lakecity students in Delhi Public School at Chitrakoot Nagar. One could also see the crowd waiting outside for Dr. Kalam to have a view of our very own people’s president. In his half an hour class in DPS, the ironic missile man of India firstly asked the students about what they wanted to become in their future life. In this process he found that there were majority of the students who wanted to become engineers and lesser wanted to become a teacher.

Talking about building a personality, he added that one should have the knowledge as well as the purity of the heart. In this process he gave the students the knowledge equation i.e.

Knowledge = Creativity + Purity in heart + Courage

In his speech he did not forget to mention the role of mother in the prosperity of the nation.  In the series of questions and confusion many students raised their points to the iconic man. In this chain he told the students about how he enjoys his role of a teacher. On the question about India’s possibility to become the superpower by 2020, Dr. Kalam again reminds the role of a mother in nation building and explains “If a child keeps his mother happy, he will sure keep the family happy, if he makes the family happy he will surely make the Udaipur happy, and if he makes the Udaipur happy he makes Rajasthan happy, if he keeps the Rajasthan happy he indeed keeps the India happy and if country is happy then what more do you need to make the country a super power.”

On being asked about his source of inspiration, Dr. Kalam did not forget to mention his teacher V. Subrramanium Iyyer. On a question about why India is always giving a handful of friendship to Pakistan and is not using this hand to slap him for the activities, Kalam quoted “strength respects strength” and explained that being a democratic country we are not supposed to risk the lives of 112 billion people who rely on us.

Dr. Kalam, the teacher of ideas and an environment ambassador inaugurated the Eco Club of the School by watering a plant. In the end with a conversation with the principal of Delhi Public School, she shared her experience about the program and also felt honored as the great personality was between them in their very own campus. The facility provided by the school and the arrangements for the program was excellent. And they wish to have many more interactions of the eminent personalities with the ordinary students of Udaipur in the coming times.

Mobile Number Portability: The Truth Behind

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: The following article happens to come from one of our regular readers, Mr. Ashwin Jain, who faced a serious problem regarding the above mentioned title, and got no response at all. The entire mishappening, I felt, must be shared with our other readers too, for the word that how alert are we and/or how much our complains are being entertained. UdaipurBlog does not take any responsibility for the contents of the post that follows, and are solely the author’s own words.

MNP

I am a Reliance user from a long time. 3 months back I decided to port to other operator all thanks to MNP (Mobile Number Portability). When I posted a request for changing the operators (on 20 March), I received a call from Reliance customer care office, the customer care guys requested me to continue my subscription with them and said they will provide me reliance to reliance free for six months (as an incentive to stay their customer). I found the scheme attractive so I agreed to it, at that time they asked me to come to their agency office and sign some papers. The employee got it signed from me stating that this contract is just a part of formality, in reality there was a HIDDEN CLAUSE in it stating that I will not port for another 12 months, the employee intentionally didn’t informed me about this clause.

I signed the contract on March 23, now it’s almost two months and they have not yet activated that reliance to reliance free service on my number. I have called the concerned person several times, but he has stopped picking my calls. When I went to their main office to his Senior for enquiry, even her response was not satisfying, I showed her that her subordinate was not picking my calls and neither my calls were able to connect to Reliance Help Line number 198, she gave me an assurance that “Sir, although the R2R is not yet activated on your phone, but from our side we will give you a waiver after doing the required adjustments”.

Alas, her assurance was of no avail. I am still being charged with normal call rates without any adjustments being done. The problem here is that I cannot go to their main office each month and ask for the waiver again and again. If they can’t add this in my bill then I don’t want Reliance service at all.
Now after getting fed up with all this ambiguity when i again tried to port my number in May, they rejected my request on the basis of the HIDDEN CLAUSE in the contract which they made me sign. They said that while giving you the reliance to reliance free scheme you had signed a paper where you accepted that you won’t port to any other operator for 1 year. They are just fooling by giving me R2R free for six month and asking me to be with reliance for a year. This is FRAUD and CHEATING. The most annoying thing is that they didn’t activate the plan on time. I am tired of these reliance employees and their excuses.

Now after two months they are saying that now your plan is configured and you can use R2R free from next month. This commitment from them came to me on 12 May. Honestly speaking now this R2R free feature is of no use to me. I have cleared all my previous bills without any adjustments. In any case after all these false promises and cheating I don’t want to stay with them, now I just want to port my number to other operator as soon as possible.

I have complained on www.consumercourtforum.in on 12 May after that i got a call from them asking for a receipt i got while signing the contract. I mailed it to them but they haven’t yet responded back. A week has passed (to do a more actual calculation months have passed) but my problem is not yet solved. On 18 May i posted my complaint on Reliance Facebook page and I got a call and they said “We can’t help you, you can take legal action if you want to cancel the contract and want to port.” I thought these employees were hired to sort out issues rather than advising consumers to take legal actions against Reliance.

Now it doesn’t matter how this issue ends, whatever happens Reliance has lost one of its loyal customer and I want all the readers of this post to be careful of Reliance. Also please don’t sign on any document they offer you as they are can cheat you anytime. This company is full of frauds and all its employees only tell lies (and idiotic excuses) to fool the customers. KINDLY BEWARE OF THE FALSE PROMISES MADE AND BE ALERT!!!
