Tips on How to Overcome the Examination Fever

EXAMS EXAMS ON THE WAY

examination fever

EXAMS – one of the most dreadful words for every student, barring a few exceptions. They are those strenuous stages of student life that had pressurized every one of us. No matter whether you are appearing for your boards, or your entrance exams, or your graduation & post graduation exams, you go through the same level of anxiety and stress. And only one question hovers in our mind – Yarrr!! Ye exams hote hi kyun h… But yes, exams are important as they decide your next step, your whole professional career, and the most of all your capability for a particular field or a particular level.

A bit of tension and stress makes your performance even better and puts you a step ahead in the ladder of success. I mean, just imagine, would you have been able to solve those tricky Trigonometry questions or learn those dreadful formulas of physics if you would not have to give exams. No never. So if you are a bit tensed and nervous about your upcoming exams then Congratulations!! Your stress along with your hard work will definitely reward you. But but but, if your stress is ascending beyond your levels of control, this can prove to be a great hurdle in achieving your target besides creating chaos in your mind and body.

I think everyone of us knows what this ghost of exam stress looks like. Tiredness, difficulty in sleeping, loss of appetite, severe headache, despite of all efforts you can’t remember anything, uncontrolled anxiety and irritability – if you have two or more of these symptoms then beware!! It can bring a severe downfall in your results.  But we have got for you some of the best shots that are sure to drive away this ghost. You might have come across these steps in some of the newspapers or magazines, but may be this is the time to implement them.

  • Don’t under-estimate your powers and capabilities. Believe in yourself and you can win this world.
  • Set a target; your goal. Always set up a target that is one plus your potential. Work hard to achieve it and then even you will be amazed by your results. But that doesn’t mean that you strain yourself with undue pressure. If you got A instead of A+, that does not implies that you have failed.
  • Actions will speak not your anxiety or stress. If you cannot understand a topic or solve a problem, take help of your teachers and your friends in place of getting worried.
  • Make a time table. But make sure it’s a realistic one. No one can solve all the chapters of maths in one day. Don’t keep on studying one subject whole day. It won’t do any good besides bringing boredom.
  • Sleep tight at least for 6 hours. Yup I’m saying for 6 hours because I’m a student too. And no one can sleep soundly for 8 hours in exams, especially one who is suffering from sleeplessness. Don’t try to recall or revise while in bed; it can affect your sleep.
  • 15 minutes with the nature. Walk for some time on green grass early morning. Trust me cool breeze can do wonders on your mind.
  • Eat well. Never skip your breakfast. Avoid junk foods and large numbers of cups of teas and coffees. Stick to mom’s advice of taking fresh fruits and vegetables, curd and nimbu-pani. Always remember you won’t be able to learn when your stomach is empty.
  • Break to banta hei boss!! Don’t try to stretch yourself beyond your limits. Take a short break whenever you start feeling a bit bored or your mind is at its saturation point. You can listen music, or talk with your friends and family, or play with your pet but don’t start television or net.
  • Avoid comparing yourself with your friends. Everyone has his own competence, his own ways of learning and revising the things. So stop thinking about others and choose the method which suits you and your mind the most.

In the examination hall:

  • Don’t panic. Have faith in yourself and your hard work. If you have given your best, success will surely embrace you.
  • Breathe deeply and slowly. It will help to lower down your stress level.

After the exam:

  • No need of dissecting your answers. Things like “oh shit! I forgot to write this word in question 4” will only accentuate your worries and lower down your confidence level. You cannot change what you have already written in answer sheet. It’s time to focus on next exam.
  • Don’t start studying immediately for the next exam. Your mind needs to be refreshed from the stress it suffered for last 3 hours. Friends, FS, and coffee – can anything else work better than this?? But remember don’t waste your time much.

All the best to everyone who are going to appear for their exams. Remember always – YOU are THE BEST and the best always WIN. So just blast these exams..!!   🙂

All about SPAM and How to Tackle it

how to avoid spam

After going through recent updates from a friend’s activity, it compelled me to think and write this article. Most of my buddies, even you? I came across many complaints about unwanted emails from Native Business Holders to increase their traffic with attractive email Newsletters, with relevance to user id and name. Which entices receiver to click on the provided link, however, that was not any malicious attack but it could harm the user if they are not cautious.

So what was their intention? 😛 Are they trying to follow any Killer email spam marketing? The answer is a BIG Yes! There lies various effective SEO Strategies and Marketing Techniques, which people usually follow to increase traffic of users to achieve certain goals. May be for some reasons! 😛 But it ought not to be like so 🙂

Nevertheless, getting back to the point while looking over the incident the mail send was ill formatted as if it was sent to increase traffic rate by not following ethical email marketing law. While inquiring about the issue through Owner they said that they got receiver email ids from various media help lines and yellow page sources. {Doesn’t make sense to me} 😛

According to the Law ‘The Privacy and Electronic Communications’ (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011,  sending of emails to individuals if you have agreed to receive them, except where there is a clearly defined customer relationship.

An option to ‘Unsubscribe’ via a link or contact details of the organization, where you can send the request to Stop these so called ‘Newsletters’ should be mandatory. Always keep a copy of any correspondence. In addition, telling the sender about the problem and allow them time to put things right. In many cases, things can be resolved quickly without us getting involved. Moreover, if you continue to receive unsolicited marketing emails despite unsubscribing or asking the sender to stop you can complain. Any Spam mail format must be covering the following points:

Can-Spam legislation:

It is the full text description of the actual Act in .pdf format.

Clarification and regulations:

It is about Details and links for the new rules and clarifications announced in May 2008 governing unsubscribe mechanisms, definitions of “the sender,” and other aspects of the original legislation.

Marketing emails or spam:

Detailed information on permission and spam issues for newcomers looking to send out their first marketing emails..

Legal compliance and marketing:

Explains why complying with anti-spam laws does not make your email legitimate in the eyes of recipients.

Targeted opt-out emails: Myth busting:

Takes the arguments in favor of opt-out email and explains why they are wrong.

You’re receiving this email because… :

The comments on this blog post provide an excellent overview of whether you should put a line of text in your emails reminding people of where and when they signed up for them More or less according to law but at least one of these above specifying above rules. In Most of cases such mails are considered meant for heavy email bombing for scams and other types of malicious attacks purpose.

A cyber security analyst organizations study ‘Symantec Intelligence Report” has found that the global increase spam reporting and represented the graphs on data collected from December 2011 to January 2012. Shown below

Spam Stats

Symantec Intelligence identified a new tactic in spam emails that included URLs that related to more than 10,000 unique domain names. Each of these domains had earlier been compromised and the URLs pointed to PHP-based scripts hosted on the compromised websites.

The report also predicts ongoing use by spammers of upcoming calendar holiday events, so you should exercise caution before opening an email from a secret admirer! Spammers and malware authors will likely exploit this day and the online activity around it by luring users to click on malware links posing other scams. Spoofing legitimate websites like e-greeting and all app providing is a frequently used technique for distributing email-borne malware.

Malware authors now also appear to be more strategic with their email distribution lists. IP addresses are more likely to appear on anti-spam block-lists if they are associated with a high number of invalid recipient emails. However, in January, the number of spam emails that were reported as spam-related non-delivery reports (NDRs), was consistently stable and low – which suggests that attackers could be taking a more careful, targeted approach to finding their victims, such as exploiting social media to enhance their social engineering tactics.

Tips to Protect yourself

  • Do not put your email address in public.
  • Check and read privacy policies and marketing options carefully who sends you emails?
  • Do not click on the adverts in spam emails. By clicking on spammers’ web pages, it shows your email address is live and may make you a target for more emails. It can also reveal your computer’s IP address.
  • Use a spam email filter on your computer. These are programs, which work with your email package to sift through new emails, separating spam emails from personal useful emails and blocking them.
  • Keep your systems well maintained. Hackers and spammers can exploit software problems, so most software companies issue product updates and patches that fix known problems.
  • Avoid responding to spam emails. You should not reply to emails unless you know and trust the sender.
  • Updates are generally available through manufacturers’ websites and are usually free to download and install.
  • You should also consider using anti-virus software to protect you against virus programs.

P.S. Article was written with strong intuition to create awareness among masses not pointing personally over an individual Firm or Company or Organization. This can be taken under consideration for any unethical spam-spreading firm or organizations.

Valentines: A day of Love or a Week of Business?

Valentine Business

Valentines – A day of virtual love and real presents is just a few hours away from us. I am pretty sure that all the beautiful ladies are too much excited to know how much their soul mates love them and also the awaiting poor lovers to make their girls realize that she can’t get a better one than them 😀

Saint Valentines Day ‘14th February’, now shortened to Valentines Day is traditionally a day honouring one early Martyr named Saint Valentine who had performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter of his jailer with his sentimental love (as it is said in the stories). His love is highly remarkable and preciously priceless. So all the Romeos who take him as an Idol, I would just make you aware that today even a single rose stick, which comes at 10-20 Rupees is priced at 50 Rupees during the week. Afterall, few believe that “love can’t be measured in money”, or even some talk about “if he loves me, he will surely buy that for me

Hum jite ek baar hai, ek baar marte hai, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai AUR pyaar ek hi baar hota hai” is the scene which is being played on almost every channel for this romantic festival. This famous dialouge of Shahrukh Khan from his most famous movie ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ provoke lovers to show their intense love in one go :D. To mention, that one go is the whole week starting from 7th February each year 😉

If love is true, every day is a celebration. You don’t need a specific day to say ‘I Love You’ to your aficionado, not a specific day to buy a rose or a teddy bear costing thousands to let your sweetheart know your hundreds of feelings.

After observing all in love couples and profitable business days, our so dear marketing experts aka ‘connectors of love’ i-e The Network Providers add the SMS charges to the expense list of all the lovebirds. As everyone believes, more exchanging of texts, more is the love flowing between the two hearts. ‘Love is mad and Valentines is high time to show your madness’ was the most cunning statement made by the owner of a gift shop to a teenage lover, just to increase the sales. But the teenagers are now a days moving on a sentimental, though wrong path, where they don’t even mind to carve out their love’s names on their hands using blades or any other weapon. I am confident enough that he won’t do the same on Mother’s Day.

Conclusion just says that a costly bouquet, an expensive 200 Rupees greeting card, a lavish dinner, gifts including chocolates, roses, teddy bears, and pouring in huge volumes of money doesn’t prove how much a person loves you. However, it does feel special but fades up after a little span of time. One can make each day special as Valentines by doing little things for each other- the surprise meets, cooking, writing letters expressing what makes them love their partner. By this post, I am not against purchasing any gifts or spending any money for your beloved, but it is always the love behind the present that makes it valuable, and not the price tag of the present.

May you have a great day ahead and may all the commitments be a success. Happy Valentines Day to all.
