Udaipur’s First-Ever Mahjong Redefines Intimate Socialising

Hosted by Notomoro Inner Circle at Notomoro

Udaipur has never lacked celebrations—but last week, it witnessed something entirely new.

For the first time in the city, an invite-only Mahjong evening was curated by Notomoro Inner Circle at Notomoro, located on the rooftop of Fern Residency, Sector 3. The event marked a quiet yet decisive shift in how the city is beginning to socialise.

Hosted by Mrs. Deepti Murdia, the evening brought together 16 exclusive members, all women, for a thoughtfully designed experience centred on presence, focus, and unhurried connection.

A Game, a Ritual, a Pause

Unlike conventional social gatherings driven by noise and scale, this Mahjong evening was intentionally restrained. No loud music. No overcrowding. No performative networking. Instead, Mahjong—new to many attendees—became the anchor.

The game demanded attention, patience, and participation. Between rounds, conversations unfolded naturally. Laughter emerged without prompting. Time slowed down. The rooftop setting allowed the group to feel both private and expansive—an atmosphere rarely achieved in modern social events.

Why Invite-Only (and Paid) Matters

The event was paid and invite-only by design, not as a marketing gimmick, but as a quality filter. Commitment mattered. Balance mattered. Depth mattered more than numbers.

This approach ensured that every participant arrived with intention—and that intention defined the evening. The result was not just a successful event, but a resonant one.

The Birth of Notomoro Inner Circle

The Mahjong evening did more than introduce a game to Udaipur—it revealed a demand.

From this response emerges Notomoro Inner Circle, a curated community concept envisioned for women, men, and children. The focus is clear:

  • Meaningful socialising
  • Cultural and game-based experiences
  • Conversations, workshops, and learning
  • Intergenerational gatherings
  • Food and spaces that support connection, not distraction

From Mahjong and cultural evenings to thoughtfully curated discussions and experiences, the Inner Circle aims to bring back intentional togetherness—something modern cities are quietly craving.

Notomoro: More Than a Dining Destination

With its reopening, Notomoro is evolving. It is no longer just a place to eat—it is becoming a rooftop where experiences are designed, not assembled. Where elegance feels effortless. Where socialising feels grounded, calm, and considered.

The Mahjong evening was small by choice.
But its impact signals something much larger.

Udaipur is ready for a new way of coming together—and Notomoro Inner Circle has made the first move.
