The Engineer is a 12th Science Maths Achiever’s Award Ceremony. It is a felicitation program for Class 12th PCM students of 2019 Pass out with 75% and above. It is an initiative by Techno NJR Udaipur and Dainik Bhaskar. Any Udaipur class 12th student, 2019 Pass out from CBSE or RBSE board is eligible for the felicitation. Students have registered for the event on NJR Open School for confirming their seat in the event.
Not only students but Faculties also do a certification at Techno India NJR in their respective fields through well-known organizations like NPTEL, Udacity.
The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003. Five core disciplines were identified, namely, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and mechanical engineering and 235 courses in web/video format were developed in this phase. The main goal of NPTEL Phase II (2009-14) was to build on the engineering and core science courses launched previously in NPTEL Phase I. An additional 600 web and video courses were created in all major branches of engineering, physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level. Several improvements such as indexing of all video and web courses and keyword search were implemented.
Akshay Nandwana, 2018 Alumnus of Techno India NJR is selected as a DroidCon Speaker for DroidCon Berlin Conference. He was previously also selected as DroidCon Speaker for DroidCon Boston Conference. Akshay is currently working as Android developer at GetMeAnApp and he is also a Mentor of Changer for Atal Innovation Mission. He had completed his B.Tech in Information Technology from Techno India NJR last year.

Dr. Pankaj Kumar Porwal, Principal, Techno India NJR is participating in one week Study Tour from 1st April to 6th April 2019 in the UK under the aegis of UKIERI-AICTE Education Leadership Development Programme. UKIERI (United Kingdom India Education Research Initiative) is an initiative of the British Council to enhance educational links between India and the UK. AICTE is nodal agency in India to promote and regulate Higher Educational Institutes in India.
This study tour is the culmination of 4 workshops organized in India to provide leadership training to more than 100 participants from various higher educational institutes. In this study tour, 10 selected participants will be provided with first-hand international exposure to improve ongoing work in their institutes and establish a Center of Excellence for jaeducational leadership. The study tour will also involve visits to industries like Jaguar Land Rover in Wolverhampton, Kuka Robotics in Halesowen, Warwick Manufacturing Group, RDG Group in Coventry and educational institute like University College London, University of Warwick, Dudley College, Dudley College’s Construction Training Center in London.

British Council is the secretariat of the United Kingdom India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI). The UKIERI has started in April 2006 with the aim of enhancing educational links between India and the UK. It has been recognized as a key multi-stakeholder programme that has strengthened the educational relations between the two countries and been successful in covering all segments of the education sector. The initiative contributes to achieving internationalization of HEIs in the UK and India to promote institutional and individual excellence in educational practices, research, and employability.
The UKIERI-AICTE Technical Education Leadership Development Programme is an activity under the UKIERI Phase Three project of the British Council. It aims at providing leadership training to 600 academic leaders from technical HEIs (spread across 3 workshops of 4 days each in one year) from AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) recognized institutes. Dudley College is the delivering agency for the programme. The programme also entails three study tours to the UK per year to select participants. This document presents itinerary and joining instructions for the participants of the first study tour scheduled from 1st April 2019 to 6th April 2019.
A three days National Level Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning was inaugurated at Techno India NJR Institute of Technology, Udaipur on 8th March 2019. This workshop is being held in collaboration with NVIDIA and Bennett University under the nationwide initiative on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning skilling and research. The speakers for the workshop were Dr. Suneet Kumar Gupta from Bennett University and Mr. Mrudang Pandya from Charusat University. On the first two days of the workshop, theory and concepts of Machine Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks, Recurrent Neural Network, and Deep Learning Hacks will be covered. On the third day, NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute will provide hands-on training for developers, data scientists, and researcher looking to solve challenging problems with Deep Learning. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeev Gupta, Pro VC of Rajasthan Technical University Kota. The participants for the workshop included students, college and school faculties along with Professionals from Industry.
Techno NJR students have made the City proud again! Student’s Team Slick comprising of Kamlesh Kumar, Sachin Goyal, and Harshit Jaroli have won the first prize of Rs. 15 lacs in the event Green-A-Thon organized during Rajasthan Digifest 5.0 held at Bikaner from 25th to 27th July 2018.

Rajasthan Digifest 5.0
A technology carnival saw the desert city of Bikaner come alive with over 5,000 people that included students, developers, tech enthusiasts, employers, and startups participate in Rajasthan’s fifth edition of DigiFest. A highlight of the three-day event was Hackathon 5.0 and Green-A-Thon which saw 3,500 participants from not just the state but all over India.
The 36-hour coding and designing marathon witness over 800 teams from 20 cities, helped by 15 mentors. At the end of the first round of evaluation, 14 teams made it to the final and were then evaluated by a jury led by Mohandas Pai, Chairman of Manipal Global Education and Aarin Capital, and Nakul Saxena, Director of Public Policy at iSPIRIT.
9 students of Udaipur based engineering college Techno NJR have been selected for Student Startup Exposure Program of Government of Rajasthan under which 100 students of Rajasthan colleges will be sent to Silicon Valley situated in California, USA for 15 days exposure to entrepreneurship. All expenses for the visit will be paid by the Department of Information Technology. This is the highest number of students selected from a single college.
Selected Techno NJR students have been working on their startup ideas and created a video of their work and submitted to the Department of Information Technology. Based on their videos they were shortlisted and called for a final interview at Jaipur. Techno NJR has created a culture of Startup and entrepreneurship through the establishment of Incubation Centre at the college where students work on real-life problems in the area of Cloud, Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence, Business Analytics, Augmented and Virtual Reality, IoT and 3D Printing.
Winning students are doing their B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering ( CSE) and Electronics & Communications (ECE). Three selected students have just completed their first year of Engineering only.
Honorable CM Vasundhara Raje andShri Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary of Rajasthan government’s Department of Information Technology and Communication have been relentlessly making efforts to nurture the state’s startup ecosystem and have been attempting to turn the state into the heart of India’s startup ecosystem. During Rajasthan Digifest 3.0 held in Udaipur on 3-5 December 2017, Hon’ble CM had mentioned about this scheme. In this Digifest, Techno NJR students had won the first Runner up prize of Rs. 10 lacs.

Team Slick of Techno NJR students won the First runner-up prize of Rs. 75,000/- in prestigious Smart India Hackathon 2018 Hardware version held at NIT, Trichy from June 18 to 22, 2018. 6 teams of Techno NJR were shortlisted for this event.
This 5-day event was conducted at 10 centers across the country at IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IISc Bangalore, IIT Roorkee, NIT Trichy CEERI, Pilani etc to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among engineering students and find solutions to real problems of India. This was in continuation of Smart India Hackathon software version which was held from March 30 to April 1, 2018. Techno NJR was one of the center for the software version.
Team slick consisting of students Lokesh Puri Goswami, Kunjpreet Arora, sayed Amir, Kunjal jain, Gaurav Suthar and Dharmendra Vaishnav of Civil and Mechanical branches created eco-friendly construction bricks and paver blocks out of waste materials like marble slurry, waste plastics etc and was appreciated by an eminent panel of judges. These bricks are called wricks These students had presented a research paper also last year at IIT, Mumbai and received first prize. Encouraged by the response at IIT, Mumbai these students decided to implement their research paper.
Disposal of marble slurry especially in Udaipur and other wastes in all cities is a major problem faced by most municipal authorities. This innovation can solve the problem of waste disposal in a profitable and eco-friendly way.
Smart India Hackathon 2018 (World’s largest Hackathon ) organized on March 30-31, 2018 in Udaipur. Techno NJR is the Nodal Center for Ministry of Railways.
It is a matter of pride that Udaipur was chosen as one of 28 Nodal Centers for organizing Word’s largest Hackathon. Udaipur based Techno India NJR Institute of Technology was chosen as a Nodal Center again this year after their successful performance in Smart India Hackathon 2017.
What is a Hackathon?
A Hackathon is an event, usually hosted by a tech company or organization, where programmers get together for a short period of time to collaborate on a project. The participants work rapidly and often work without sleep to achieve their task, as the events generally only last 24 hours to 36 hours or take place over a weekend.
Why Smart India Hackathon 2018?
Our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, envisages a Digital India to bridge the digital divide in our country and further promote digital literacy in order to make development a comprehensive mass movement and put governance within everyone’s reach in India. In order to work towards our PM’s vision, MHRD, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Inter-Institutional Inclusive Innovation Center (i4C), and Persistent Systems organized Smart India Hackathon 2017, a unique initiative to identify new and disruptive digital technology innovations for solving the challenges faced by our country. The initiative was a huge success. To reiterate the efforts towards our PM’s vision, MHRD, AICTE, i4C, and Persistent Systems is proud to propose the 2nd edition of this initiative – Smart India Hackathon 2018.

What makes it Largest in the World?
27 Union Ministry & Departments, 17 State Ministries are participating in this event who gave 1060 Problem statements. More than one lakh students submitted their digital solutions out of which 1296 teams consisting of 10300 students were shortlisted for Grand finale to be held at 28 Nodal centers across India Simultaneously. Techno NJR was the Nodal center for Ministry of Railways.
Techno NJR saw the arrival of 40 teams consisting of 300+ students and mentors arriving at their campus on 29th March. Teams came from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Goa and also from smaller places like Medak, Jalgaon, Kunoor etc. A team of 60 dedicated volunteers led by Umangini of the 3rd year worked day and night for 4 days to ensure guests comfortable stay and food arrangement. Coordinator for Udaipur Nodal Center Aaditya Maheshwari along with his team of 15 faculty members ensured that all required infrastructures like Labs, telecommunication network worked without any problem.
The event was judged by a panel of 16 judges including 7 judges from Railways led by Director Rajiv Gupta. Other judges included Mr. Lalit Yagnik, ex-director IBM worldwide, Mr. Narendra Sharma, ex CEO, Hexaware, Mr. Damodar Dani, ex MD Modi Tyres, Dr. Raghuveer of GITS and others.
Hon’ble Prime mister was so enthused about this event that he decided to talk to students at all 28 Nodal Centers at 8 PM on 30th March when students were working hard to find solutions. PM’s talk when he addressed students as Problem Solvers of the country filled students with confidence. Techno NJR organized a Zumba Session for participants at 10 pm through Leni & Group. Early morning at 6 AM on 31st April, a session on Yoga was organized.
There were three prizes of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 75,000/- and Rs. 50,000/- for Winner, First Runner-up, and Second runner-up.
Winning Teams
Team Electric Sheep of Bengaluru won the first prize of Rs. 1 lakh for their solution of Public address system on platforms to be done on FM radio frequency so that passengers can hear the announcement on their mobile phones, Radios, and personal MP3 players. This will ensure that every passenger hears the announcement and do not miss their trains.
Team Janmitra of IIT, Dhanbad won the second prize of Rs. 50,000/- for their Machine learning algorithm-based solution to recognize the type of complaint and send it directly to concerned official. This work has been difficult to be done manually as the volume of complaint received via letter, email, Facebook, Twitter and other social media is very high.
Third prize of Rs. 25,000/- was won by Team RangersZ from VJTI, Mumbai for their solution to predict Railway Telecom Network failures and thereby minimize downtime. This is very important as entire reservation system and freight operations depend on efficient telecom network.
