Varying names of Udaipur has been elaborated everywhere across the globe. Some people call it Chota Kashmir whereas some call it as Venice of the East. But, the most popular synonym of Udaipur is LAKECITY because of its beautiful artificial water reservoirs that make it happening in the hills of Aravali. Surmounted with the scenic lakes i.e. Fateh Sagar, Pichola, Udai Sagar, Lake Badi, Goverdhan Sagar, Swaroop Sagar, and Rang Sagar, Udaipur has been the first choice of various tourists and travelers to explore culture with heritage history of Lakes. And, that is why to celebrate, to spread the word of awareness, and to achieve the purpose of clean lakes; Udaipur Lake Festival has again got a head back from 18th November to 20th November, 2016.
Earlier in the month of February 2016, Udaipur Lake Festival was organized by Rajasthan Tourism, UIT, & Municipal Corporation which was a huge success and came into the limelight. As per District Administration of Udaipur, this initiative of a festival was taken in charge by seeing the immeasurable tourism growth. Along with this purpose, it was decided to develop varying activities in and around lakes while highlighting unique benefits of the water reservoirs. And, during that festival in the month of February various activities were conducted which are assured to take now as well.
This time Udaipur Lake Festival is going to witness following acts like:
- Open national championship of Dragon Boat, Canoe Polo, Kayaking, and Canoeing.
- Live concert of Jaipur Bears Band, Nitin Mukesh, and Pankaj Udhas.
- Art Camp & art fair
- Marathon – Udaipur by night
- Cyclothan – Udaipur by night
- Kite Flying & Kite exhibition
- Army & Police Band Display
- Swimming competitions
- Bird Watching
- Udaipur Eco Tour
- And, last but not least Shades of Water (a live show of light, sound, and water).
All the to-dos are set to take place on the venues like Fateh Sagar Pal, Sanjay Garden, Rani Road, Rajeev Gandhi Park, and Gangaur Ghat. And, all the events into the countertop are divided as per timings that are different from every single day of the occasion. Not only this, but you can also volunteer and join the hands for this public cause of saving water reservoirs by registering at Pichola Lake (18th November), Fateh Sagar Lake (19th November), and Gulab Bagh Baori (20th November) from morning 7:30 A.M.
