‘Would you like to have maple syrup or whipped cream over it?’, was the first thing I heard when I entered this cozy little cafe in Mumbai and thought to myself as to how many places would be serving waffles in Udaipur. But I was soon past that, as there was this perfectly baked, sprinkled with snowy white powdered sugar waffle in front of me. No doubt I gobbled it up within the next five minutes or so.
We may not be intellects or pundits of any field but when it comes to food each one of us has an opinion. Our beautiful city and the people always welcomed food with much fervor be it tornado potato, wood-fired pizzas, or soya chaaps. But we couldn’t ever find anything particularly satisfying as a Waffle! Yes, we have gotten so much in love with waffles that we cannot think of anything else better suited to soothe our taste buds. Moreover, there’s an increasing trend and demand for waffles in the city with more and more places coming up with them. Do you think it is going to be the new food trend in town?
And therefore, our search for mouth-watering waffles in the city commenced. Here’s a list of places you must visit in order to binge on this amazing Belgian delight!
1. Shakes and Bites
One of the oldest waffle-serving places in town is Shakes and Bites. This is an American diner serving burgers, shakes, fries, waffles all day long. They have been serving delicious eggless waffles since 2011 and have a huge variety of waffles in their menu ranging from caramel banana waffle, peanut butter banana waffle to choco-oreo waffle and a lot more. This really gets our mouth salivating! The range of waffles here is around ₹250-300/-
Before you start wondering as to where this place is, let me tell you Royal Brewmen is none other than your all-time favorite and formerly called Brewmen cafe. Another beautiful cafe serving waffles throughout the day. Its specialties include smoothies, shakes, and coffees in particular. Sip on their amazing drinks while you chat over a game of chess or read popular novels at their place. Waffles here range from ₹200-250/-
This cool cafe with a roof-top seating, small discotheque, and charming murals is the talk of the town these days. This place serves delightful waffles and burgers and is soon going to come-up with a new outlet at Panchwati where they are going to introduce to the people, vada pav fondues, waffle sticks, and paneer chilli pizza. You can eat their Nutella waffle for just ₹120/- What are you waiting for?

This is another place serving waffles and amazing thick shakes in the Celebration Mall. It is a sister concern of Shakes and Bites and has been serving waffles throughout the day since inception. Waffles here range around ₹200-300/-

5. Twenty Nine
This recently opened cafe situated in the heart of the city is described as ‘a small and cozy place for chit-chat with family and friends’ has become quite popular these days. They serve eggless waffles all day long and have 25 odd varieties of teas from green, black to herbal and oolong tea. Their teas are organic and contain naturally dried flavors. They even serve sandwiches, cold, hot, and filter coffee. Average price for waffles is around ₹150-200/-
