Students donate 63 units of blood

On the occasion of India’s 66th Independence Day, Prayatna – the social club of IIM Udaipur, organized a blood donation camp in the institute premises in collaboration with the Rotary Club Meera of Udaipur, M.B. Hospital, and NACO. Right after the flag hoisting, which happened early in the morning, students were seen lining up before the blood donation room, eagerly waiting for their turn to donate blood. More than 60 students volunteered for this noble cause to donate blood on this august occasion and were given certificates. The blood donation drive was overseen by a team of 5 doctors who came from the partnering organizations.

In total, 63 units, i.e., about 22 litres of blood was donated. The blood collected will be going to the Maharana Bhupal College (Government Hospital) in Udaipur for the aid of the needy. On this occasion, Prof. Janat Shah, Director of IIMU said, “The blood donation drive embodies the spirit of sacrifice and social responsibility which is marked by 15th August.
