सोनल कलाल आज उदयपुर की पहली महिला क्रिकेटर बन गई है जिनका बीसीसीआई की सीनियर चैलेंजर वनडे ट्रॉफी के लिए इंडिया ए टीम में चयन हुआ है। सोनल बाएं हाथ की स्पिन गेंदबाज़ है और हाल ही में बेंगलुरु में बीसीसीआई की सीनियर महिलाओं की एकदिवसीय प्रतियोगिता में राजस्थान की ओर से खेलते हुए उन्होंने सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन किया था। इसी आधार पर उनका चयन इंडिया ए के लिए किया गया है।
बीसीसीआई की सीनियर चैलेंजर वनडे ट्रॉफी के लिए प्रतियोगिता विजयवाड़ा में 4 दिसंबर से होगी। इसमें इंडिया ए, बी, सी और डी में मुकाबले होंगे। इसके आधार पर आगामी वर्ल्ड कप के लिए भारतीय टीम का चयन किया जाएगा।
सोनल कलाल इस मौके का इंतज़ार 2017, जब उन्होंने क्रिकेट खेलना शुरू किया तब से कर रही थी। अंततः चयन होने के बाद उनका कहना है की राजस्थान टीम में वे पिछले 2 वर्ष से खेल रही थी और उसका फल उन्हे आज जा के मिला है। उनका यह भी कहना है की उन्हें अपने आप से इससे भी बेहतर प्रदर्शन की कामना है। सोनल उदयपुर में पहले कोच तारिख खान और अब मनोज चौधरी के निर्देशन में कोचिंग ले रही हैं।
