But, this is an exciting event for Udaipur and wildlife lovers as very soon Sajjangarh Biological Park is going to welcome big cat “Rama” in the territory.

Rama is a five-year-old white male tiger who is being moved from Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai. His relocation is a part of an exchange program in which two wolves will also be sent from Jodhpur and Jaipur to their new location Vandaloor Zoo (Chennai).

By seeing the language barriers, this appears to be causing a problem for the white tiger which has somehow officials did not foresee.

And, after knowing about the big cat’s dialect, the forest department team from Udaipur, which has gone to bring the tiger from Chennai’s Arignar Anna Zoological Park, is also going to bring his caretaker who can command tiger in Tamil. That’s why his present caretaker Chellan is going to accompany him to his new home along with a veterinary doctor.

After understanding both the population and language situation, the Central Zoo Authority has approved the exchange and expecting the revenue of the Udaipur Park.

Rahul Bhatnagar, Chief conservator of forests, Udaipur, said, “We already have a female tigress, Damini, brought in from the Pune zoo last year. The presence of male tiger will help in improving the tiger population.”

“There are huge numbers of animal lovers in Udaipur, and the presence of white tiger will be another attraction for them. The park witnessed a footfall of 80,000 this year and generated revenue of Rs 25 lakh,” Bhatnagar said.

This hitch of tiger who understands only Tamil language has left zookeepers in a fix, but it is definitely going to amaze everyone with its presence.

He stepped into this creative couture right after his education and had got his experience from several international conventions and long practice which is worth to know. And, after knowing about him, even our perception also changed about piercings and tattoos. So, if you have also thought that this trend is only meant for sailors or riders, then you’re mistaken. As by getting into the conversation with him, we got to know that tattoos have a story to tell and can make you addicted to this art even more.

Find out what Rahul exclaimed about tattoo culture:

Rahul!! How long have you been Tattooing?

“It’s been 7 years I have been into this business. Earlier, I was only dealing with the clothes and accessories. But, then my passion towards Tattooing and Piercing drag me into this field.”

What got you interested towards this business of Tattoo and clothing?

“It’s been into my concern since I used to watch LA Ink and Miami Ink shows that were telecasted previously in 2007 at TLC. So, the love for tattoos has always been thrilling to me. Apart from this, from the viewpoint of graduation, I am a B.Sc. holder in Fashion Designing from NIFD which inclined an interest of mine in outfits that is bit different compared to other commercial fashion experts.”

What were the initial reactions of your family and friends about your business?

“Well from family side, there was no criticism as such because they do have faith that whatever I am doing is going to be resourceful. So, I was supported by family as well friends for being into this field.”

Many people have the perception that only gangsters, bikers, and rebels used to have tattoos. What do you think about that?

“This is something that is entirely a myth in almost many out there. People do have the notion that the ones who are gangsters, sailors, bikers, or roadside thugs only tend to have tattoos. But, this is an art which is not only meant for the defined frame of people. You never know that an individual who is going to get a tattoo inked maybe is out of love or in the memory of anyone that he/she has lost. Everyone has a different opinion and feeling attached with a tattoo.”

Are you inspired by any famous artists, tattooists that have influenced your career path?

“Yeah! Everybody needs inspiration. For me, it’s Mr. Jo Jo with whom I am working with from past three years. And, I can call him as a Lucky mascot. Because of Jo Jo we have got many clients from Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and all over the Rajasthan. Apart from this, his dedication and work have influenced my career path to grow more with every single day.”

There are many other frightening notions relevant to health about getting tattoos on the body. What’s your opinion about it?

“According to me, this is the primary concern that we solve in our consultation. I do have many tattoos on my body, and one can see I am absolutely healthy and fine. 🙂

It is 100% safe and skin friendly so, people don’t have to fear from when they are getting something on body out of their desire. Mostly, clients do have the query that would it be painful, or it would cause any kind of skin problem. Some also have the questions that after having a tattoo can we donate blood? For blood donation, medically it is suitable to give in every six months. And, I am also a blood donor, so I can say that after getting a tattoo one can easily donate blood. Hence, everyone can conclude these common myths are not associated with tattoo or piercing process.

Apart from this, hygiene is a key factor in this job. And, every single needle that we use is freshly opened in front of our client which we purchase directly from the USA. The ink and machines are bought from Germany which is somehow expensive but acceptable for our professional use.”

According to you, what’s an appropriate age to get a tattoo?

“We generally suggest that a person should be 18+ to have a tattoo. But, if someone who comes to us to have a tattoo at an earlier age like 15 or 16, we assure that parents are concerned and ready to accept. Although, getting tattoo or piercing is quite painless than any surgical process, but our priority is to take permission for the ones who are below 18.”

Society still doesn’t consider a tattoo artist as the finest career choice. How do you feel when someone points it as less beneficial than white collar job?

“LOL! Like a maestro, I can say I am doing a reputed thing at least I am not a contract killer or a drug dealer. Being into this field is my choice, and I am happy with what I am doing like any other person who admires his or her art. There is nothing so out of the box about this as gypsies of Rajasthan in the past followed tattoo culture. For some people, they hang their art on walls while we wear it on our body. So, I can conclude it’s better than being nothing in your life.

Umm…!! People do appreciate the art, but when you are an artist, they create a question mark on your earning which creates a negative impact when it’s about choosing a career. But, if you are passionate and have a fire to build yourself then, I don’t think any job can bring you the satisfaction that you will have from what you love.”

What kind of clothes and Tattoo designs clients prefers the most?

“Every client comes up with different taste and demand. Some go with the casual cum funky clothing and accessories while some look out for little formal. And, we deal with all sort of imported stuff exclusive from Thailand, Taiwan, China, and Indonesia. So, people who are fond of international stuff can switch their minds to wear something different.

When it’s about tattoo designs, people are more diverted towards spiritual and religious symbols that define the Hinduism culture like Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, or any tribal symbol. Earlier, they only used to get their partner’s name inked on their body and that too more probably when it’s peak time i.e. Valentine’s Day. But, now they are getting influenced by the Urdu language designs or something that can give a unique touch to their personality.”

What’s the best review that you have got till date?

“There are countless as till date we have inked tattoos for many people in and around Udaipur. Exceptionally, we have also got reviews from clients who belong to foreign countries like USA, Thailand, Turkey, and lots more. So, specifically, there is no count as for us every review by the client is fruitful.”

Where do you see Skull Fashion Studio in future?

“Right now we are planning to establish the venture in Rajsamand, Ajmer, and many other districts of Rajasthan. And, rest it’s just good vibes can let hope for the best!!.”

If someone wants to be in this creative profession, what he/she should take care off and be prepared for to earn the perfection.

“For an individual, being passionate about every job is a must. And, this implies same to tattoo artists as well. If any girl or guy is prepared, then they should keep practicing on sketching and drawing because finishing is obtained from that. The noted thing is having patience as it’s necessary because perfection can only give you presence amongst the people at the end.”

What can be more interesting when you meet a person and have a chit chat about his inspirational life journey of 0 to 100 that also from a very young age when everyone used to think about taking admission in colleges or grabbing a degree? A person who is a master blaster in digital photography, Jayesh Khaturia (Destination Wedding Photographer). When our team surprisingly met him on his photo shoot, he came up with the incredibly warm welcome and had a long conversation in a natural environment of Badi Lake. His thoughtful gesture and dedication towards his work is something that drove us to know him even better as a person. And, that’s how we went in conversation with him on a friendly note…!!

Jayesh what explains you better? Tell us a little bit about you!

Well, in my professional life I am a photographer but, as a person, I adore simplicity and love to be with my family. I like to explore something new but with versatile characteristics and, that’s what the thing appears in my profession too. Apart from exploring, I am a diehard traveler and have been to various places for various photography projects. This is what I love the most, as it is associated with my career and my interest too.

How long have you been a photographer?

It was a coincidence. I was 15 Years old when I handled a DSLR for the first time. My very first experience of clicking pictures motivated me to focus in this industry and that how I turned into a professional photographer.

Are you self-taught or did you study photography?

The knowledge and skills I have developed are results of my interest and learning capability. The initial guidance by Dinesh Khaturia Ji (REX Studio) and Jagdish Sukhwani Ji helped me to groom my skills. Moreover to that, photography is an art; no one can teach you until and unless you are not passionate about it.

What made you choose photography as your career choice? And, how did you end up being a wedding photographer?

As I mentioned above, Photography is an art, and for me, it’s worship. Since childhood, I always wanted to do something creative that can fulfill my love to explore and travel. The initial persuasion from Mr. Santosh Kalra was one of the motivating factor. So that’s how I followed the passion of photography and made it as my profession.

What is unique about your photographic workflow that can let anyone select you as the first choice?

We are experts in capturing the lifetime moments and the real emotions of the couple so more than our expertise it is our client’s interest which brings beautiful outputs. So when we receive any inquiry, we try to understand the feelings of couples so that it helps us in capturing the real emotions.

The moments of numerous wedding traditions like exchanging varmalas and engagement rings are one of the moments that are mesmerizing and touches the heart. It opens the gates to the world of togetherness. That is what my team and I bring it out in the capture.

How would you describe your wedding photography style in the least possible adjectives?

“We help you remember little things, long after you have forgotten everything that is summed up as beautiful memories.”

What are your thoughts about Udaipur when the people describe it as favorite place/destination for wedding shoots?

We have shot Weddings across the globe but, any other location cannot beat the charm and Royalty of Udaipur. That is why many people can conclude it as Asia’s no. 1 Wedding destination. And, I really feel blessed being as Udaipurite and working in this industry.

Is your approach more candid or traditional? State how unique it proves for your clients?

It’s not about Candid or Traditional shoot. As I mentioned, it is about capturing the moment and the real emotions. So we shoot candid or traditional both ways we tried to capture the true feelings behind the moment.

Not all clients perform well in front of a camera. Neither all are creative. How do you handle the ones who are Shy?

It’s our Job to bring the best. 😉 The simple funda for a customer is that they should be not having any artificial expression to hide their simplicity. We say just be yourself and let us bring the best out of you.

Any tips for couples who are looking for their perfect wedding photographer?

These days many new wedding photographers are coming up with their business models. Since photography is an artistic approach towards capturing memories that are meant to be forever, a couple should select their wedding photographers while focusing on the quality, not the quantity.

Which was your most memorable assignment and why?

For me, each of my Photography work is special because whenever I do something, it comes up with something different and better than my previous project.

Where have you traveled to photograph weddings?

I along with my team have visited many places across the globe, and my most favorite one includes Udaipur, Goa, Lonavala & Mumbai. The recent shoot we did was for a wedding in Phuket Island, Thailand.

At this peak point of generation, what do you think of the photography industry and, what’s your vision about it in 5 years from now?

We are growing every single day. Each year we are getting finest clientele. We envision to serve more of global weddings in 5 years.

Other than photography, what are your other passions or hobbies?

Other than Photography, I Love Singing and Listening to World Music. And, of course, traveling is something that I can’t give it a skip.

Any words for aspiring photographers wanting to head into the wedding photography industry?

If you can transform emotions and feelings of your clients into the best possible output, definitely you should step into this industry.

From where did your journey start?

“The concept bloomed up casually while discussing with my friends that how convenient it would be to have exclusive trendy outfits on rent for a special purpose without burning out the pockets. Because being in the Indian lifestyle and culture, we always tend to have the scenario to take up a lot of preparations for almost every occasion, especially when it’s about shopping the latest clothes and accessories. But, it is probably not possible all the time as fashion keeps on changing and being in women’s counterpart the conscious side grows more often to have all kind of updated and designer stuff in the wardrobe. Apart from this, a large number of ladies have the limited income source whether they are homemakers, working females, or college going girls. And, all of them usually desire to fulfill the wardrobe with the latest collection of designer apparels and pieces of jewelry. So, whenever it’s the time to head out for a party, wedding, or a theme based function, they don’t have to think twice before getting ready.

So, from that very point, the initiation of Rivaaz got heated up that can provide consistent service to every woman who loves to wear everything new all the time without being into the headache of shopping expenses, storage hassles, and no more repeat wearing.”

What’s your educational and family background?

“I have done MBA in Human Resource and also earned experience of corporate sectors in Jaipur and Singapore. My father has been in the service background, so probably for me being a job oriented person was always in my blood. I never thought to be in the business industry, but my in-laws family is business class. So, they gave a direction to kick start towards being an entrepreneur.”

Who was your inspirational source to blow the idea of a business in your mind?

“My husband is the greatest inspirational source to support me for everything whether it was my job or self-venture. He has always been beside me in every up’s and down’s and motivated to sustain the forward reach of my business.”

Did you face any sort of complications while setting up your business?

“Yeah, apparently like every business person, it was a tough task but exciting to cross every hurdle! Rivaaz was the quick set up with the very limited investment that too with a concept which is somehow still not accepted by the people because there is a notion why to rent an outfit or why to wear something which is worn by someone else too. But, with the USP of Rivaaz, I was sure that it is going to work as a virtual wardrobe for every woman shopper who wants to wear designer, trendy outfits without repetition at every occasion.

So, going with the vision of boutique concept for rented fashionable stuff through social media and referential publicity Rivaaz got the identity amongst many people.”

Why the name Rivaaz only? And, what is different about it than any other clothing store operating on the same concept?

“At prior base by understanding the need of renting modern and western clothing like evening dresses and princess gowns, Fashion closet was introduced. Then, later on, Rivaaz as a unit was conceptualized according to the Indian tradition. As what we observe by being in the festive culture every occasion and party functions like Sangeet ceremony or Marriage are celebrated enthusiastically. That’s why understanding this perspective of rich societal thing; I named the store that can reflect ethnic roots.

When it’s about the part of USP, we can claim it to be the pioneer store, first of its kind in for Udaipur market operating out of a proper store that too at a premier location in celebration mall. Secondly, I personally choose and pick every outfit rather than bulk or catalogue buying. We do not aim to show 50 pieces and confuse the customer. Instead, we give them exclusive 10 pieces to choose from. Then, they can just pick their selection, try, and get the fittings also done according to their body shape. So, it won’t look uneasy or rented.

Understanding the requirement of the client concerning what type of wear they are looking for and for what occasion is our priority.

Another crucial thing that we maintain is hygiene. As we are dealing in used clothes which multiple users are going to opt so we ensure that outfit is dry cleaned twice before another usage.”

Do you think that a dress and accessories on rent are satisfactory options rather than investing in a designer outfit for any special occasion?

“Well probably if you look at the economic and practical aspect, it is the most satisfactory option rather than purchasing an expensive designer outfit for any special occasion. Everybody knows this thing that whatever apparel we buy for wedding purpose or even for other family functions, we hardly use them again. Therefore, renting an outfit is much more convenient as having a wardrobe where you don’t have to worry about storage, dry cleaning, or repeating your wear is ironically a good idea for every woman.”

Competition in the fashion and clothing industry has risen pretty much? What is your opinion about it?

“For me, it’s one of the primary things to look out because clothing field does require fresh or new arrivals every time. And, rental outfit concept is something that has to buck up with the competition of fashion industry too. Apparently, no lady wants to wear the outfit that is outdated, as a trend is something that keeps on revolving but whatever the new concept arrives we adopt that according to the taste of the customer. Personally, I keep on modifying and upgrading every outfit which is made available to the client. Like, if there is an emergence of any new movie and one has been to us with that demand, we always give our 100% to fulfill that.”

What is the minimum range and time limit that an individual can rent a party wear?

“Every attire has a different price. Usually, the range starts from Rs.600-Rs.1000 for the contemporary party wear like evening gowns or dress. And, if there is a requirement of ethnic dress or any other wear like Lehnga, Dandiya (Garba) dress, or Saree the range starts from Rs.500. And, jewelry is also included in that which goes more favorable option.

Return time limit is approx. 3 days until that we don’t charge any extra amount which is again a suitable thing for the females out here.”

Any incident that you consider as an achievement for your business?

“There are many, but I remember my first booking with an NRI client of Sweden who searched for us and came straight away to hire outfit for every function she was going to attend.

Even on the very opening of boutique because of wedding season, we got the unexpected number of walk-in’s which raised our presence amongst the people of Udaipur. And, within a short span of time, we have completed around 500+ rentals which count in the happening reach level.”

What are your plans regarding Rivaaz?

“Udaipur was a pilot project for me. Initially, my vision was to start such store in cities like Jaipur, Pune, Bangalore, and much more. But, on a positive note, I keep getting queries from those cities as well. And, many clients from outside who don’t prefer to carry extra baggage during their travel for any particular family or friend’s functions, they have been in touch with us for rental purpose.

But, for advancement in future, we are going to make it online very soon with more features and benefits for the clients like online booking, free home delivery and lots more.”

Well, I immensely feel that it’s the best option for the college going girls and working women, who don’t have enough time to shop and still wanted to look perfect for every celebration without harming their pockets.
