Earlier on March 21, Rajasthan CM had announced a complete lockdown in the state till March 31. The CM had announced this state-wide lockdown before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the pan-India 21-day lockdown on March 25.
The CM discussed the current situation with the representatives of industrial organisations and various business associations through video conferencing. He said that protecting the lives of people is the most important aspect of the decision of the state government.
The CM said that the entrepreneurs and traders of the state have given their support to the government in handling the situation. They have maintained the supply chain of essential commodities during the lockdown period.
He said, “The government stands with entrepreneurs in this hour of crisis, and industries related to essential commodities, which were allowed to open in lockdown, will not require any kind of permission to conduct their work smoothly”.
Gehlot took feedback from representatives of various associations, heard their suggestions related to the smooth supply of essential commodities and lifting the lockdown.
Earlier the Chief Minister of Punjab, Amarinder Singh Earlier unanimously extended the lockdown till May 1 on Friday. Before that, Odisha PM announced that the lockdown in the state will be extended until the end of this month.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister has scheduled a video conference to interact with the Chief Ministers of the states on Saturday. The PM along with the CMs will decide upon extending the 21-day further.
